London

I love London, UK.
Off there for the weekend for a course and boy is it exciting to think that we are contemplating moving to London  for good! Hubby will be coming too this weekend and studying...we both have more exams! Can't wait to say it's all done!

See you soon!

Color Blocking Fashion Tips

Exam time...

1 day and a half to go. Ex-haus-tion. Don't think my brain can take in any more today...have been checking youtube, shopping sites, my new selection of ebay items for sale (yeah!)

It's been great to have a week off work but getting out little to the 'no fun' anymore side...

Working and postgrad exams..it's worth it, I tell myself. It's worth it....

The Ebay Experience

I think my Ebay experience went well. Sold 30 items and generated a profit of 430 euro. (That's deducting fees from ebay and mailing items.) I was happy with it however the time for mailing items and packaging (I like to make things colorful and artistic) took hours.
Would I do it again? Only within the homeland or UK I think. I had buyers in Chile, UK, Canada, the States, New Zealand, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, and some Irish buyers too. It was exciting to get so much coverage in a space of 3 weeks.
I may just do it again...:)

Rubber...

Man I love craft. Craft work, crafting, craft.
I've been thinking of opening a store on etsy and using my skills, cricut machine, paper, rubber stamps, washi tapes, corner cutters and the whole box of items I have in store...to sell cards & gift wrapping ideas. I've been thinking of purchasing a serger to make underwear too but that will be my next dream to execute in a few months time:)
For now, I will keep to the smaller craft items while we save for a family trip this summer:)

Today I found this pretty neat site to make my own rubber stamps...http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/sweet-little-acorn-stamps-howt-131628
It's pretty cool with ideas and since I find that I'm looking for certain words or images which are hard to find online/shops, why not make my own! I also found this store for low priced craft tools: www.stampeaz.com
Really like that store too. Well worth browsing over the next few weeks.  I believe a rubber stamp makes all the difference. My most recent favorite is a 'THANK YOU' I got from a craft store in Belfast. I'll add the photo alittle later...it's truly super handy and chic on its own.

What do you guys think?

Motivation....

Wow, what a day.
I'm here studying (or trying rather) to focus but DIY items and my ebay selling site (look at my previous blog) are more interesting. I did have a fabulous cycle into town today! I believe I spent 2 hours total from home, shops and back! Does anyone have any tricks to stay focused on the things you really don't want to be doing....discipline yes, but when you've already been through med. school, it's time to relax the brain a little...(that's what I had hoped! ha!)

I picked up some nice faux suede summer sandals and perfect fitting jeans for E8! Didn't even try them in store, just had one of those hunches! Think online shopping does that to a person over time!

For the last hour (when taking breaks) I discovered something rather fascinating...
DIY for clutch bags, DIY to make bloomers and so on!
I LOVE DIY and I think I never mentioned that I own a CRICUT machine! We used it to make our wedding favors/invitations/thank you cards. Tres Chic to say the least!
From this evening - the thought of buying a Serger machine on Ebay and a $27 well recommended sewing machine on Aliexpress.com are truly on my priority list but first, of course...is paying off our debts..hmmmm...
ON second thoughts...it's rather MY debts. My husband hardly knows what to do with cash:) Typical hehe x
It could be wiped clean in about 2 months but I have to be quite stringent with myself.
On Tuesday, spoke with my bank and I am to officially open a shopping account. We have a joint account so this is my one to maintain sanity and allow for us to save. We equally have to save for our holiday to the inlaws in July so, I know I have to cool it! However, writing down the ideas is probably my best bet. A challenge in itself but I will do it!
I have a few pending etsy items to pay for (custom made and waiting on me), 4 real suede clutch bags on ebay, a US$90 Ice cream maker and my MYUS.com items in storage (about 30 to be shipped). I have a tendency to use MYUS.com quite a bit, but it's FABULOUS and trustworthy! Truly check it out!
In the meantime, I am awaiting my mini mannequin to help me sell more items and display to chic perfection!

Keep beautiful ladies x

Oh my oh my!

(Press play to enjoy...)

Oh my! Where is the time going! I was meant to be studying....
But I just found the following...
A few months ago, while browsing youtube for hair ideas, I discovered 'faux ponytails.' Never thought of doing one as I'm not your usual hair extension girl however my hair has been cropped and growing it back with thickness is taking some time. So, today, I ventured back to youtube and found this link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUUb00UdwgA
Cute eh?

Well, my beloved Aliexpress has done it again and instead of paying $50, you can pay for the real deal for less than $15.
YEAH! Straight and curly pieces! Exciting.
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Hot-sale-good-20-fashion-women-hair-extensions-ponytail-curly-synthetic-wigs-free-shipping-1pcs-lot/684742459.html
The free flowing hair piece is the secret to the ones on Hairdo. What YOU can also find is the same things but for under $5 as well! ( I chose the $8 one, feel it's more reasonable than going too cheap...)

Another exciting find is to type in: zz BAG in the main search menu bar. Happy Shopping ladies x
This is cute: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Big-2013-fashion-bag-casual-all-match-leopard-print-paillette-bag-shoulder-bag-handbag-women-s/763994377.html (MaoMao anyone?)

What's missing...memoirs from Dec 2012.

There are countless ways available to change your mind, your thoughts, your outlook in life. There are multiple options available which can be quite daunting to get your mind around. Many people find themselves going nowhere in the end. Being in Psychiatry, we work with Psychologists and Social Workers quite frequently and the response to 'Can a person be helped?' would be ' To a certain degree.'  This is not to negate my fields expertize nor a call for abandoning the Mental Health World. It simply is based on the fact that despite one's knowledge in an area, every person/patient comes in with a unique story and perspective in life. At times the stories could appear quite similar and one could wonder if  it was only the Alcoholics, & Suicidal/Self harming victims visiting the Emergency department (A&E) on a given night. However, by digging deeper, the actions exemplified by each individual seeking help are a revelation of a particular need  in human nature. You may ask what is it?
I'll tell you a little story...(another time...:)

Something amazing....

There is something amazing about being on leave from work in Spring. Warmer days, more joyful bike rides, lighter colors and less clutter!
We cleaned out the house and now, it's just my drawers to be arranged. I see so many dark colors in my closet. Goodness! I've been contemplating on getting rid of more and giving to a charity again! Did it last month and looking forward to doing it again! I have many things (I will admit) but I think most of the bits are from my trial times. I like searching and trying new things. I don't think I could have it any other way. However, as a result, there is much bought and much unused - depending on whether I like the item or saw something else I like. If things were as simple as my husband's wardrobe and possessions, I could see happiness in little but would always wonder what if:) So, trying to get that balance right!
Anyone know of how to reduce undue clutter? Shop less per month? Buy one (however the item could finish quickly - have experienced that a few times!)

I've been doing more pampering and eating less these days. I've had it with dieting. Just eat less and don't feel guilty for overindulging! Simple.
Drinking so much more water and with the use of our new Eva Water Filtering System! Truly worth it!
Buy and see how soft water can really be! (Add a lemon or two and drink drink drink!)
I'm also using less on my face and moisturized with 2 drops of Rosa Mosqueta oil. I don't have acne but do have little bumps on my face.
Bought this  facial soap:
 http://www.etsy.com/listing/102518412/purgo-french-green-clay-all-natural-acne?ref=shop_home_active
My face feels really soft and less bumpy. With the water intake, my face is looking more clear. Happy me!

I also deep conditioned (DC) my hair a great deal on Thursday but used Castor oil as part of my M&S (moisturize and seal) technique. Boy, my hair is very itchy. Think it's better to be used as part of my DC instead of on hair alone. That's me DC-ing my hair again tonight! Yeah! I love washing my hair and would do it everyday if I could however I lose a great deal during shampooing. The good news though is that I have less broken hairs and see more of my husband's hair on the bathroom floor than mine! Go me, once again:)

I've been looking at many accessories (jewelry, hats, belts, bags!) & of course, Sandals for the Summer! I have been inspired by Chicismo.com. Truly awesome clothing combinations by women out there! I now see a new reason to be inventive and of course shop more! Ha! I have my list ready for the end of the month already!

Belts:
http://shop.mango.com/ficha.faces?state=she_007_IN (Sash Belt)
I really love these kimono belts (I have of these already!) However using them more creatively is new to me this month! They don't seem to have the softer leather available anymore but they can be found if the need is there!)

Necklaces:
Wood is hot! Leather, Brass & Feathers too!

The beauty with etsy is that you can have the items custom made. I have a tendency towards a darker metal chain instead of gold and silver. (Brass and leather are on my top list!)

Earrings:

I was looking for peacock and various colored feather earrings.

Hats:
Red, blue, kakhi and white summer hats.

Early morning babble...

I didn't plan to do this but I went for it....vegetating for a whole day! WoW! But now I find myself still up at 2am in the morning while my beau is snoring in the bedroom. I don't recall when I last relaxed so extensively since marriage. I decided to not take on any major responsibilities. I didn't even need to cook dinner. Slept during the day and hubby ended up cooking up dinner. How bliss:)
At midnight, started to think of the families I'm due to meet this week and the four on my blacklist. How I deal with it...is this way: I'm here to provide a service so quiet Sista! Whatever about their personalities and challenges. That's the beauty of dealing with people! Last year, it was a boss who was incredibly defensive and difficult. I tried to see the 'goodness' in her but she would throw it all back at me anyway. I've been dealing with forgiveness as I really felt outraged by her attitude....and no, I was not alone in this. Many other colleagues of mine had felt the same way (and worse) about that woman. Why do women bring in the majority of the problems...? The men are so much more relaxed. I can think of 5 mothers off the bat and 4 of them are divorcing. I say no more...

I'm starting to feel peckish but equally aware that I should be asleep. I'm up in 5 hours and here I am blogging...I see a snickers on the table and some Oatcakes. I could  have cereal...hmmm.....I'm yawning now. Ok, the Oatcake won!:)
I've been enjoying my liquid vitamins Mineral Rich. My nails have never been so strong and I believe my hair is growing too! I also successfully rollerset my hair yesterday! Wish I left it in longer but that was trial one only:) Like where I'm going with all these trials. Thank you L-rd! Thank you...

Will be returning to my 80 MCQs  per day study plan. Can't believe that March is around the corner. I was meant to be done with one question bank by now but for 2 weeks I crashed due to my huge workload. The fact that I don't have a boss at present and taking on most cases is real not cool, but anyway. Life goes on...Thank you, L-rd...

Reflection...

I think I published my last post too late. Wrote it in January and forgot to publish.

A new year & new circumstances...

Do you ever go through times when too much change is too much to bear?
I've come to a stage in my life where New Year resolutions don't work for me anymore. To me if your mind has not changed by Dec. 31st at 23:59, how different will it be at 00:00 on January 1st?  I believe that one changes only once one's mind is changed. I believe this is the answer to several failed NYRs. Why do people keep doing them - out of tradition, maybe?

I felt quite lonely leaving my last work placement. I was there one year. Ironically, when there my friends were the ward staff as opposed to my colleagues. Guess that's to be expected these days. I miss many things. From the atmosphere to that Italian admirer who never stopped wanting to be noticed. That went on for one year. Nothing happened. I wouldn't let it go further. I'm glad though. It was a lost cause and tough to deal with at times. Told my husband and closest friends about this challenge. Prayed and left with nothing damaged. Just a sense of 'nostalgie.'

Oh babble away....

It sure has been a while since I last blogged. Most of the time, I'd say it's excuses. Other times, what can I say - I'm not used to writing a diary as I did as a child?! (sheepish grin) Blogs seem to be memoirs or daily babbles. Do you really want to hear of my very adventurous few weeks?!

I'm in love with my Hybrid bike. Yes, I love my husband - of course I do and so does he! He even tried to embarrass me on our grocery trek saying that I'd not made enough love to him in the last 3 days! This of course was when about 8 other people could hear his loud voice. Charming my love! My bike and I are getting to know each other better. I've learned the secret of those many male ego'd cyclists who have been trying to overtake me for the last few weeks - the gears! As a novice, I stuck to Gear 2-3. That didn't give me much speed and a friendly cyclist slowed down one day to hint that speed requires WAY higher gears! So yesterday, I decided to take my chances. Got my hubby to heighten my seat and I went to gears 3-6. The highest on my bike. AMAZING! I can't believe I never tasted this kind of sex before! No more pains in the thighs and oh! How awesome I felt! I can't believe that 7 weeks has passed and I stuck to painfully slow gearing...tsk! Women! So, as I've been cycling away, I've also discovered cycling accessories! Wow, can they become an new obsession or what. I bought these: http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/212883026.html
but they seem way cooler in the picture. I have placed one in my front wheel. It's ok. Nothing special! I'll probably sell the rest on ebay. Was also looking at helmets. I'd say the Snow Helmets are actually cuter. The cone shaped huge air vented helmets are simply weird in my opinion. It really is a look I will NOT be taking!
Anyway....I have to re-echo that I LOVE MY HYBRID!

Have been doing a bit of shopping over the last few weeks...received a new wide IV GHD styler and also a Huetiful steamer. The steamer is good but sometimes I ask myself is it really all that...? I've used it twice and can't see how it makes any difference to being under a hot dry hooded dryer with a cap and your conditioner or oil underneath. It is said that it increases the moisture retention abot 3-4 x more than a hooded dryers and also, I guess I can agree helps one skin. I'll keep trying but I find it's the products one uses and the way you dry your hair which results in the outcome of your hair. As a matter of fact, I am currently under my portable hooded dryer and have rollers and a net on. Hair feels smooth. The tip I used was from 'Hair Grow already.' I used a water based leave in spray than added a serum all over. Then parted in my hair into 3 sections making the middle look like a mohawk. From there I took about 1 inch sections sprayed some plain water and put a bit of serum on the hair. Even before going under the dryer and taking one roller down, I noticed a better and smoother curled hair. Praying that it will turn out right! YEAH! Another 13 mins left.

I've also found a new comedy love: Awkward Black girl on youtube by Issa Rae. I absolutely laugh my head off whenever I watch it! Has anyone else seen it? It's truly the bomb. I think this is one funny clip for anyone who wants to see it...Harlem Shake: :... Season 1 Episode1 is accessible all the way to the Finale Season 2 part 1. The last episode is coming up on the 28th of February! Really looking forward to it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIVhKmuKLOM&list=PL5921C30B7EFC4D21

In relation to food...Food of course is very special in my life and that desire has led me to make a new Japanese cooking friend...Jpinsider.com. We've never met in person. I simply was looking for Japanese food to help with my weight. The Katsu chicken and Chives & scramble eggs are absolutely delicious and authentically Japanese. We've struck a good friendship and she's sharing food tips and ideas. Got to love it! If there is anyone who is good at Japanese cooking, drop me a line. I really love healthy ideas. I buy everything even if it has to be shipped!

Work is ok. However Child Psychiatry is not for me. We are literally coaching parents to be better because their kids are the outcome of their parenting on many occasions. I don't want to say 'bad' parenting because some moms and dads are products of their own circumstances. It's simply sad to see the number of vulnerable people walk into our offices and think we have the ultimate cure. It's truly sad. That's why the oldies are still for me. Can't see myself doing anything more or less. Hoping to do it once we move from Ireland. Really pray for an open door in the coming future. We are moving things along and truly I hope that it will come in the next two years. I still have 4 exams to complete and my hubby has 3. The months are flying I have to say but it's great to not be on call. Wondering where I am next. Hoping a non-call related job!

Just has heated Russian dried sausage....my goodness too much MSG - will be going out in the trash tomorrow! Buerk!
